A Pine Needle fell
Vos, de J.W. A pine needle fell in the forest. The eagle saw it fall. The deer heard it. The bear smelled it: Interaction as lived relation in the live documentary BEAR 71. Master Thesis, 2012

In this thesis I explain how interactive documentaries are fundamentally relational objects that require a theoretical framework allowing us to describe these relations. Building on the philosophical work of Deleuze and Massumi I explores the aesthetico-political implications of a particular interactive documentary: BEAR 71 (2011)

Documentaires van/voor de toekomst
Vos, de J.W. Documentaires van/voor de toekomst. Research report, 2012

During my internship at Sound and Vision in the final year of my studies, I was assigned to investigate current trends in documentaries and the implications for collecting these new forms of cultural heritage. The report is in Dutch, but an English summary can be found in appendix B.
